Snack Series, presented by Aurum Poultry Co.

The Melbourne Edition!

Clear the calendar – June is THE month for serious snacking with Good Food Events’ inaugural Snack Series, presented by Aurum Poultry Co.. Melbourne favourites Prince Dining Room, Serai, Maha, Sunda, Lee Ho Fook, and Reine & La Rue have all joined in the celebrations by creating one special poultry (specifically, cockerel) snack each.

Each restaurant’s snack will be different – and capped at $25. There’s Serai – an award-winning Filipino restaurant awarded one Chefs Hat in The Age Good Food Guide 2024 Awards, Prince Dining Room, also hatted, has just reopened and announced Mitch Orr as its Culinary Director with Ben Parkinson as Head Chef, there’s Shane Delia’s perennial favourite Middle Eastern Maha, mod Southeast Asian restaurant Sunda, Victor Liong’s two hat mod-Chinese stalwart, Lee Ho Fook, and Reine & La Rue – where Victoria’s operations chef Brendan Katich earned the restaurant two hats in the same year it opened as well as the coveted title of Restaurant of the Year at the 2024 Good Food Guide Awards.

Mitch Orr, SNACK KING, says, “ I think for us as chefs snack are a very good creative outlet. No one doesn’t like a snack.” Ben Parkinson, his partner in the kitchen, adds “From my time working in France, they have a great love of chicken and cockerel in general. It’s nice to be able to use it and highlight it in Australia because I feel like it’s definitely undervalued and underrated. No matter where you are in the world, people love snacks.”

Adding a bit of retro fun to the experience, a Snack Series Bingo Card will be printed on the back of every Snack Series menu in each of our participating restaurants. Just scan the QR code in each venue, and once you’ve sampled all six snacks, you’re in the running for a huge special prize including restaurant vouchers and a night at The Prince Hotel, St Kilda.

Good Food Events’ Snack Series debuts in Melbourne with other cities following suit over the coming months (yo Sydney, you’re next). Snack Series in Melbourne is available from 1-30 June.
